I love helping others overcome communication disorders by enhancing their ability to eat, drink, communicate, and celebrate life every day. I am licensed by the board of Pennsylvania and hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology. My practicum experiences in graduate school included working in acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centers, a TBI rehabilitation hospital, elementary schools, and skilled nursing facilities. Throughout my professional career, I've gained experience in skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, dementia and memory support units, adult day centers, assisted living facilities, and home health. In 2018, I received specialized training and became certified in the VitalStim® Therapy System, a non-invasive speech therapy technique that aids swallowing through Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES). I am also certified to administer the Brief Cognitive Assessment Tool (BCAT®) for cases of suspected mild cognitive impairment (MCI), memory loss, or dementia. Additionally, I am trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) using The STONES approach. I have had the pleasure of working with adults experiencing CP, MS, Parkinson’s, Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia. I am skilled in training residents to utilize speech-generating devices (SGD) with touch screens and/or eye gaze systems.
